I was researching the laws in China regarding UAVs and it seems pretty relaxed. I do not want to fly in the city but I would love to fly near the great wall of china and in some gardens and other areas free from too many people. I am American if that makes any difference.
As far as I know as a passenger you shouldn't have any issue other than the tax which shouldn't be anything more than $100.00 worst case I would think.
I just felt with this but it was under weird circumstances as I am a flight crew member. My Phantom was taken from me (returned when I left the country) but I didn't think I would get it back. I asked for clarification of the rules and they said that if you are a passenger that you will be taxed...
If you are a passenger you'll be fine. I only got it taken because of a crewmember restriction. I was the pilot of the flight going down there. Apparently for passengers you'll be taxed whatever they determine the value is over 300 dollars.
