Just wanted to chime in on this as my P3A suddenly started having this same issue for no reason after a year or so. Removing the gimbal/camera and in the process unplugging the cables and then reinstalling everything seems to have fixed the problem entirely.
All rechargeable batteries naturally degrade over time with use. There's nothing you can do to "reset" the capacity. My battery has 33 charge cycles on it and is down to 4310 mAh. My last flight was 18.5 minutes and I ran it down to 22%. Less than 15 minutes to 30% may be slightly on the low...
Are you pulling the videos off of the Phantom's SD card? The ones that are cached on your phone are from the live stream and are low quality.

Very cool! It is an awesome island if you're looking for a nice quiet place to relax. My family has been going for years and years, but this was the first summer in a couple that I was able to take a week off.
Interestingly enough, I think I spotted those houses from your photo in my pano about...
Thanks!
Try the pano again. I did some editing to it and it was briefly down while I reuploaded.
And yeah, I just put the bird up in one spot and had it record for about 12 minutes, then sped the video up 20x in post.

Just got back from a week at the beach. Of course the Phantom came along, too. Here are my first couple efforts: a 360 panorama over the island, and a timelapse of the sunset one evening. I have lots more film and photos to edit, so there will be more to come! Enjoy, and I'm always open to...
My initial reaction is that you got way too close for too long after the grounding. Of course everyone will have differing opinions when it comes to etiquette, but I would consider that kind of flying to be pretty rude.
Not that it excuses the attempting downing of your drone with the fishing...
The DJI Go flight viewer/log can be quite inaccurate for some reason. I've had it show me going 50+ mph on flights when I was in P mode the whole time without much wind.

I can tell you that whenever it comes down to federal v. state/local laws, the federal law is going to "win" almost every time. It's called preemption.
The amount of power being used by the VPS (whether it's on or "off") is probably negligible in the grand scheme.

I'm primarily in it for the photography/videography. I just love the way things look from the air - there's nothing like a sunset over the lake from 400 feet up. I do enjoy the piloting aspect as well, but I really see these as aerial cameras first and foremost and I don't push the limits/take...
Very cool! Great shots. I spent a summer in Vienna but never knew this cemetery existed. I hope you'll post more videos from around the city!
