if it's brand new bird then always good to do compass, IMU calibration and gimbal right after, also do a IMU calibration as cold as you can, it help to cut down your bird warning up time later on.

mine in law turn his P3P during upgrade to v1.4.0010 and it made loud beeping noise when turn on, so what i told him to do is downgrade to previous version which is 1.3.20. Its will keep making loud noise when turn it on with bin file in sd card but just let it seat come back check later and...

got mine from bestbuy for 2 reason 1./ ext. warranty 2./if something wrong i can bring to BB store and let them deal with it, if take so long i can speak to store manager and so on.

go to DJI Go app setting click on the 3 dot on the bottom, scroll all the way down then click on About, yr app version should show in there and if yr P3 is on and connected it will also show the firmware version of AC and RC too.

power on with firmware in sd card and yr P3 will upgrade again, made sure if there is a .txt file in sd card, just delete before start update.

also may be bad download file too, redownload and try again and make sure use yr PC format sd card as fat32.

there is a options in DJI Go app setting to turn it off.

just put whatever firmware version u want in sd card and it will upgrade normally no big deal, just make sure dont turn it off until the gimbal LED turn solid green and yr RC it off.

i think he mean lost video connection.

try to do IMU caliration with yr P3 as cold as possible, same happen to me too, it used to took around 4min+ but now around under 20sec.

there is options in the app so video u record will cached in yr ipad, u can turn on/off as u want. As for the ipad mini i dont think its work with P3, only the ipad mini 2 and up are support.

try downgrade the firmware to older version then upgrade back to v1.4.0010
