This is an indication that one of the cells is going to die. Usually, the light corresponds to one specific cell. I had to return one of my batteries that got this very same issue.
I have 32gb ram here and it plays smoothly, my processor is pretty much the same than yours and my video board has only 1gb. The trick is the ram memory.

You are correct about DJI development practices.. they really suck.. but did you try to replace your USB cable? Maybe something is getting corrupted while getting transferred between devices.. Maybe worth to try.

Regarding the isopropyl alcohol, I would not spray it but would drop it abundantly on the drone. Even if you order another bird, I believe that worth to try to fix this one as I described. In the best scenario, you gonna have a spare...
But until you get the corrosion x, I would advise you to open your bird up and wash with isopropyl alcohol.. leave it alone, opened, until you get in hands your corrosion x.. I would order 02 or 03 cans just in case..
