    Winged over.

Someone else claims this happened to them doing the exact same maneuver, in a similar situation. My assumption is that it simply got caught in its own wake, due to the maneuver. I will try it again somewhere safe.

Great, that is good to hear. This is my first phantom, so I have not figured out all of the ideosyncracies yet. This gave me a small heart attack. What is odd, is that the video stopped when this happened, however it is certainly likely that I bumped the switch by accident. I hear a beep...

    Winged over.

So this afternoon I was flying in atti mode. I was at full forward speed and began to yaw the aircraft to the left and transition to a full right straffe. The drone snapped over on itself and began to tumble. Then it rapidly recovered and I brought it in for a landing. Several questions...

What should do when I fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport?

I'll break it down further. 1 - stay out of controlled airspace. 2 - notify ALL airports within 5 miles. 3 - They can NOT technically say no. But if they do, be careful how you handle it. (Personally I would find somewhere else to fly) Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots

What should do when I fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport?

Okay re read everything that I posted. I never said anything about permission. What I said was specific, you need to notify them. Furthermore, you asked why they would tell you no if you are not going into their airspace. That is simple, you may not be. But they may either be uninformed...

What should do when I fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport?

Okay, please don't misinterpret the question I am about to ask, I am NOT being insulting. Do you understand the way that airspace works around the different categories of airports? You can easily be within the 5 miles of the airport and NOT be inside of their airspace. What is slushy, is...

What should do when I fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport?

This is kind of a slushy subject. You are required to NOTIFY them, as long as you don't penetrate their airspace they can tell you no. But they can not prevent you from flying. However, if they feel that your flight jeopardized safety or caused an issue they can then pursue legal action...

What should do when I fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport?

Yes. You need to contact them. Unless you are part 107 and you are not entering their airspace. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots

My Best Buy Experience with P4P

Last time I returned something to best buy I had to sign something and they checked my ID. This guy likely just got himself in a lot of trouble. Serves him right.

What's Latest Thoughts on Marco Polo

What is the likelihood of a flyaway? I am new to these, and generally don't take mine very far away. It seems that a fly away would be of minimal concern?

    Lost faith I'm RTH function

Lee, If you are above the set RTH height, and signal a return to home, in some cases it will continue climbing. There are a bunch of threads about this floating around. We are all hoping the next firmware update will resolve it.

I made my first little video. What do you think?

I am going to keep tweaking it. Perhaps I can get someone I trust to drive it around some. I have some track footage, but the resolution is to low to work with this. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots

I made my first little video. What do you think?

Thanks. I wanted to get a little more comfortable with it before flying it super low low in that area. It looks fairly open. But there are certainly things to hit. I may order an osmo mobile to try to work in some handheld footage as well. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots
