    bird side antenna

No need to replace the two 5.8g dipole antennas, they are perfectly fine.

    Rebuilding/Upgrading a Phantom 3 Standard.

Most of the discrete components you can replace yourselves, like motors, antennas, compass, LED's, you can get them from DJI. However don't try to replace individual surface-mount components on these high density multi-layer boards, it's not worth the trouble.

    Flight log annoyance

One list is sorted by pilot "you", and the other is sorted by aircraft. If you only have one drone, both lists will look the same. It's not a bug.

Aftermarket antenna for phantom 3 standard

I second that too, the bird-side 2.4ghz ceramic patch antennas are very poor. you can either drill holes and mount two standard 2.4ghz WiFi rubber ducky antennas to the landing slid, or get a set of P3P leg antennas (DJI sell them in set of 4) and no drilling is required.

I got an used P3S and it throws sometimes "RC signal lost"

If you upload your flight log to: Airdata UAV - Flight Data Analysis for Drones you can see a map of your signal strength there. IMO, given that you are in the EU, your range is 400m out of box, that is guite impressive. And you have not even seen a single video transmission signal lost message...

Phantom 3 Standard on British Airways/Aer Lingus?

What you need to look out for is the restrictions for lithium battery. Like this one: Banned and restricted items | Baggage essentials | British Airways

Lost signal over water, took a swim.

Sorry to hear your lost. I think the first mistake was compass calibration. A successful calibration doesn't mean it's done correctly. Some compass errors won't show up until you are airborne, away from your calibration point.

solenlife, I really do not care what you think. Go study how a parabolic antenna works before you come back. If you have a look at your sat dish, the feed antenna is facing away from the source and aiming at the dish, it's not omni-directional like your RC antennas. Maybe if you've made your...

    Birdside antenna mod version 2.0.

I agree, IMO, it was a mistake to use the patch antennas on the drone. P3SE has reverse back to using 4x landing skid antennas (2 for 2.4g plus 2 for 5.8g), and the quoted range has shot up to 4Km now.

    Windsurfer

it's the 5.8g one the wind surfer is sitting on. mimo assums you have more than one antenna, our 5.8g tx has only one, there is no spatial diversity.

IMO, the only function the parabolic reflector does is to block other unwanted interferences around the RC's antenna. Yes, it does boost the signal, but all it does is to reflect noise towards the AC, so, it's only boosting noisy signal. This is becuase there is a gap of 1-2 cm between the...

    New Remote / Distance Problem

Why did you think the problem was caused by the RC, and not the drone itself? Don't forget there are two dipole antennas inside the landing skid, if the receiver side is faulty, you could see the same sympton as you are seeing now.

    Crashed.....Rookie Mistake

Compass readings are just sets of offset (numbers), your drone's heading is computed from the reference offset, to your current reading. If your reference offset is wrong, put your drone on the ground is not going to give you anything meaningful, until you take-off and your drone starts to...

Oh Dear !! It had to happen - too far and battery runs out

Of course, I haven't had the experience of running out of juice mid flight yet, touch wood. I have both P3A and P3S, I could have got the two instructions mixed up. But this is from page 12 of the User Manual for P3S: "While the aircraft is in automatic descent, you can still control the...

    Crashed.....Rookie Mistake

If you don't get the "magnetic interference" message on the ground, it doesn't mean you won't get it once you are airborne. If you move the drone a few feet away from your steel object, bingo there is no more magnetic interference. But as soon as you are airborne, the AC can still goes out of...
