Legally selling your footage in the US

Don't sell it, license it. That way you can sell it over and over. Stock footage like this is valuable. I've sold footage that is in feature films, not drone footage yet, but that could be coming.

    Low Battery Bad Video?

Thanks Dan, that is interesting. I think I must have accidentally done that when I first shot video, with out knowing it. Another thing I have found is that all my videos are also backed up on my Samsung cell phone. Horrible quality though for some reason. b.

    Low Battery Bad Video?

Here is something that happened to me flying this morning. Got up early so I could shoot video with the sun behind me. Had a great flight until I landed and found I had forgotten to turn the video camera on. Drats. So, I flew again just to get at least something that early. After a few minutes...

What You Should Have Been Told

At the ranch I have about 50 acres to fly on. Much easier than the SF Bay Area.

What You Should Have Been Told

OK, thanks all, got it. I will try it out today. I'm up at my ranch after several days of flying in the S.F. Bay Area. Plenty of room to have fun up here.

What You Should Have Been Told

Jimmy, thank you for your reply. Yes, I know what the Home Lock function does, but I am not talking about a safety feature. I was just wondering if there could be an option for controlling drones without respect to which way it happens to be facing. I really don't care which way it is facing, I...

What You Should Have Been Told

The only issue I have had so far (6-8 days flying every day) is when I rotate the P3 Stnd. and get confused as the control stick is now reversed. Forward is now reverse etc. I wonder if the software could be changed to disregard which way the drone is facing and just treat it as an almost round...

Places to Fly in Berkeley Ca.

That was my first thought Alokbhargava but there was so much wind I gave it up.

Places to Fly in Berkeley Ca.

New P3 Standard owner. Looking for places to fly in Berkeley, Ca. Also Marin County. Used a park in downtown Ross for my first fly because it had less wind than the local ball field. boont

    Charging in the field...

Here is what I use. Has a place to plug-in a standard cell phone USB to mini wire, with a (with lighter adapter) which will plug into you Phantom. "Does anyone have something they use to charge while out of the car?"

Hoodie for Controller & cell phone

Flew my P3 Standard yesterday for the first time. Way cool. Couldn't get the video to work because I had such a hard time seeing my Samsung Galaxy 4. I could find no way to block the light hitting the screen Today I ordered a hoodie for the controller and cell phone. Funny, with all I've read...

    Shutting motors off

Ok, thanks all. I should have said "left stick was in the down position" not the "right stick". Good responses, with a picture no less. So to recap...land the P3 Standard using the left stick and keep holding the stick down to stop the motors. This avoids the 3 sec. delay of holding both sticks...

    Shutting motors off

First flight of P3 Standard yesterday. All went well except for one landing where I couldn't immediately shut it down. I thought you just pulled both throttle levers down and to the center just like firing up but it didn't work. I then noticed that one lever on the right was stuck in the down...
