DJI-Vision Android App - Download APK?

Postby garygid » Sun Dec 15, 2013 2:02 pm

I ordered the Phantom 2 Vision yesterday, and went to get the DJI-Vision app
from the Google Play Store for my Vizio Android Tablet VTAB1008 (v3.2.1),
but it says that my device is not acceptable. No reason given.

In the DJI Wiki I find that Android 4 or better is "required", and that
the Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, Note 2, or Note 3 are suitable, and other
similar devices would be accepted. So, maybe I have a "suitable' device?

I try my Kyocera eVent (Android 4.0.4) and ...
it is not acceptable, and no clue to what is accepted.

One member on this forum said that he had similar problems, and
that he was able to download the APK file directly from DJI, and it
worked fine on his "unacceptable" smartphone.

I found the APK to download here: http://m.dji.net/djivision
The latest version, as of 2 Jan 2014, is 1.0.37 for DJI-Vision.

Cheers, Gary

To install you need to set "allow installation from unknown sources" in your android device.

How well would the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" Tablet with 8GB Memory work?
1GB ram, 1024 x 600 screen, can add 32GB mini-SD card, and about $129 at Walmart.
Apparently it will display HD material (Although not in full Hi-Res).

It has WiFi (and bluetooth), but I do not know about sufficient motion
sensors to operate the camera tilt and pan functions.

Thanks, Gary

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" Tablet seems about right
for the FPV viewing, and for running the DJI-Vision app.

Not recognized by the Play Store, but I downloaded the APK file
and it runs. I will need to try it with the P2V before I will really
know if it functions properly.

Does anybody know what functions the "display" needs to have?
Or, what the DJI-Vision app needs?

Kindle fire hd works fine also. You do need ti add the app using a special app installer app like the black market app or 1 market app.
