>>ZERO<< anxiety "Go Home and Land" check routine!!

I have a Futaba T8J and have a dedicted "fail-safe/rth" switch. I've not tested it yet-but I see it working in the software.

To answer your "go home and land"....I've had the phantom about 30 feet away, when I got first level warning-red flashing light occasionally, and kept flying. I did bring it closer to me-but have yet to have it return on it's own in either first or second state low battery alerts.
I notice on the 2nd level that the throttle goes to 90%, which with my rig, causes it to land wherever it is. And, with normal flying, the time between 1st warning and 2nd warning is right around a minute-maybe less.

So, I believe that if the aircraft was up higher, and farther away-90% throttle will not be sufficient for a soft landing. Best advice I can give at this time is monitor your voltage through your FPV-or watch for the red flash, and start bringing it home. When it's solid flashing, just let it land-now.
