Is it normal for the metal back plate (the plate which the GoPro mounts on) to get warm while operating? I notice after doing some stationary fpv tests that the plate was fairly warm (but not the gimbal motors themselves)

Is the back plate designed as a heatsink?

I just got mine and did all the updates and played around with calibration and it was real warm. I imagine when you fly you will have cool/circulating air to cool it down.

I find that mine gets hot when the GoPro battery is low and charging off the phantom 2....it stopped being so hot when I put in a fully charged battery in the GoPro or when I charged it with USB cable.
