I installed the gimbal as per the instructions on my Phantom2. After my first flight, which lasted about 15mins, I noticed the 4 small anti-drop covers and screws had all gone. The instructions say to finger tighten them, which is what i did.

So, what are these for? I see many pictures online whith same gimbal installed without them.

Am I safe to fly anyways?

Thanks,
Vince

They may have vibrated out if not tightened enough. Several guys are using small zip ties or dental floss to do the same thing, retaining the gimbal in place in a crash.

Thanks. So what is the actual purpose of these screws/covers? Is it so the gimbal's two pieces (separated by the cushions) do not separate in a crash?
