I don't know if is even celebrated in other parts of the world. It was started 30 miles from my house in Grafton, WV. Anna Jarvis was quite an advocate and gave speeches on honoring your mother. She hated mother's day cards. She said to write your mother a letter of appreciation. Mother's definitely don't get paid enough. Mine passed away after a 4 year battle with cancer this pass Christmas. My wife's mother passed away March 4, which makes this Mother's day kind of strange this year. Thank you, Mother's for your love. It precious.
