Will turning vps off increase battery life

Just a thought as those ultrasonic transducers probably use a lot of current. They certainly make enough noise.

It's most likely a savings you won't notice. When flying outside, it's a great idea to keep VPS turned off. When on, it can sometimes cause erratic flight when flying close to the ground and/or when landing.

Taking off with VIPs on if on uneven no level ground has caused quad to flip to the side messing up props too.

My VPS is always on never seen a problem from it. Mind you I still haven't updated my P3 yet!

I'm finding I still sometimes get the VPS error warning on the new firmware (You should land as soon as possible) This is usually when it's way high and should not be active - as before ignoring it works just fine.
I think I'll turn it off again.

For me its useless since i never fly indoors but it wont save much since its only active below a certain height

there is a options in DJI Go app setting to turn it off.

go into advanced settings the option on the bottom of the list always double check before flying that it is off as mine switched its self back on

I also think that you cant turn of the ultra sonic module, only the camera which is part of the vps system. As you might have noticed you will still hear the clicks from the ultrasonic module when you deactivate VPS.
