Why IMU?

Got a new P3P but I had to calibrate the IMU out of the box, is this normal?

I also just went to fly it and try it out and also noticed the IMU took abot 2-3mins to warm up, is this normal?

I had a P3P in the past but returned it because of gps issues. Don't remember the imu taking so long to warm up.

Normal.
Or goggle the cold IMU procedure to cut down on IMU warm up times in the future.

Its better to calibrate IMU if unit has travelled a long distance or gone through SW changes.

Proper IMU calibration reduces warming up time, thats what many have observed.
