Why does the Spark have more range then the P3S if they both use wifi?

Just curious... does anyone know why the spark is rated for more range over the P3S when used with the RC when they both use the same type of WiFi signal?

Or does the spark with RC use a different kind of signal when communicating to the drone?

According to the site, the FPV which would be the wifi appears to be only 100 meters. The control signal is another signal which can reach significantly further.

The P3S works similarly but with much better FPV range and not as good control range, apparently.
