Why did I get new firmware available prompt today?

Went out for a flight and was so happy. Then i went to the Dji site and got so sad.

I have the same problem. Flew ten times since upgrade, today I take it out and it says RC requires upgrade, dersializer disconnected and there is No Video Signal.

Think now the updates have become mandatory. Had to update mine to work again.
