Which gimbal lever from ebay?

I need to pick up a gimbal lever for my recently purchased Phantom 1.
The two options on ebay are:

I can see that, the range of the lever on the back is extremely short.
Now, the video shows using an audio pot. Would a linear one be better for this? Give a more even control to the range?
(no Radio shack in Canada but we have an electronics shop or two)
