I'm currently using the T8J which is limited in channels, there are no sliders, and I don't think I can save profiles.

I'd like to use some or all of Ianwood's profiles but I cannot find the T8FGS at Futaba's website nor do I find any Google shopping results. Is this a discontinued model and, if so, what model would I get instead? The 14SG?

It ships in two versions - heli or aircraft. They differ only by the location of a couple of switches. They are otherwise completely identical. The 14SG also now includes Quad programming.

You can also get a spring kit from the service folks for a self centering throttle stick if you want. If you get it from Tower they may be able to install it prior to shipping it.

The 14SG is compatible with files from the 8FG.

I am also having a bit of sticker shock about the 14SG. I'd love a cheaper option. I suppose I could buy a used radio.

The newer 10JA looks like another option, and it's over $200 cheaper too! Anyone have this radio? I'm interested in upgrading from my T8FGS. Do we really need 14 channels?

The 10J is a great radio for the money. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

1 - it is not compatible with any receivers other than the S-FHSS. So any FASST RXs you may have will not work with it.

2- the 8FG files are not compatible with the 10J. They ARE compatible with the 14SG.

3 - The 14SG is compatible with all current protocols, FASSTest, FASST, and S-FHSS.

Thanks for that info. Guess I'll keep my T8FGS for now. :)
