Many reasons but flying over water at low altitude is good enough for me. Dont want one part of the phantoms brain (gps) thinking its stationary while the camera is reporting lateral movement.
It's best to disable it whenever flying outdoors. There are very few situations where it works well. And, there are known oddities that have contributed to crashes while VPS was disabled outdoors.
