What's going on here?

Anyone know what's causing the horizontal banding at the beginning of this video? I believe I had just canceled a RTH action. Thank you.

It is sun banding. There are many, many threads here on this subject. It is caused from the sun shining through the props causing shadows on camera sensor. You need a hood and/or filters. The hood works for most.

As the man said, however, if you can see this phenomenon on your tablet/phone during flight, turning away from the sun and or dropping the camera angle can help.

I usually get this during flights at sunset or over water. But yeah, sunlight through props.

The common name for this is "prop shadows". FYI for when you're searching here or on google.
