The first time I became aware of multicopters was in early 2012 when I saw "Yonder Blue films" using a Gh2 on a cinestar 8. But never thought that in only about a year or so I too could try some aerial filming. This technology has come on in leaps & bounds in such a short time. Does anyone know when the first multicopter capable of carrying a camera appeared?

cheers

The first widely available off the shelf multi was the Parrot AR drone which was launched at CES in 2010.
Before that, there was the Keyence Gyro Saucer in 1990 which used mechanical gyros.

Way before the Parrot was RCTOYS Draganflies, I had two of them. The stopped making them 4-5 years ago to focus on their larger and much more expensive UAV video systems.
