i would like to have a confirmation as well if i am buying the correct parts for my first FPV for my phantom 2.

Video Transmitter: http://www.getfpv.com/5-8ghz-600mw-video-tx.html

Cable: http://www.firstpersonview.com/cables/d ... tter-cable

Monitor: http://www.rangevideo.com/en/58-ghz/55- ... esign.html

Thanks for your help! :)

Those will all work together, as long as you order the SMA version of the monitor (and don't have an iOSD mini) :)

thanks for such a quick reply.

what if later on I want to get an iOSD mini? would that plug and play cable not work? or should i buy this instead?

as far as cost. is it a good deal or can i get something better?

Correct, if you add the iOSD mini later you will have to switch to that other cable at that time.

Those components all have standard pricing most everywhere, I don't think I've seen better prices on them any time recently.

I think you had a minor copy/paste error, your links for the cables (fpv hub) and monitor are the same link but assuming you picked a compatible receiver, then yes the AVL58 transmitter and DJI FPV hub are designed to install together in the Phantom and start transmitting FPV with no soldering needed.
quick question are you putting in an iOSD Mini or no?

Would I recommend it? meh. various people around this forum say that the aren't super thrilled with the performance of the AVL58 versus other, cheaper transmitters although I honestly haven't paid close attention to if antennas were a factor in those cases... I can't stress how important good, omnidirectional antennas are versus the crappy little sticks that come standard with transmitters and receivers. Anyway if compatibility and ease of install are bigger concerns for you than price, your list looks good. Feel free to link us the receiver real quick and we can verify, or just call Atlanta Hobby those guys are really friendly I've been there several times.

the guy who posted right after you is a perfect example of an equivalent (and non-iOSD) setup that's still plug and play, just with different equipment if you are interested in comparing. You guys are both in the FatShark / ImmersionRC set of equipment & frequencies.

transmitters do get hot, my Boscam 500mW even has a fan. it's normal, and no the plastic won't melt. I've seen in several places instructing NOT to remove that plastic wrap

Just be aware that's just for the monitor, it doesn't include the charger or the bracket to connect it to the controller.

I've read thru all of the great posts on this subject but have one more question. If I get the 3 items linked above and a iosd mini do I have to get a new transmitter? I have the standard P2 white one.

Thanks!

Not that I know of but I would get the plug and play cable for it. Makes life easier.

Anyone know the best placement for the antenna on the p2? Spironet v2 came in the mail. Right now I have the antenna facing to the side and not the rear. Saw a YouTube video comment saying its a great placement. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

The original white phantom controller is all you need. there are several brackets to mount the monitor to the controller - I've also heard of people putting the monitor on a tripod.
