Hi everyone,

My knowledge lies more in video and photo rather than electronics and the RC hobby scene so i am posting to ask what is the best Radio control/Radio set to upgrade to? I understand that a lot of phantom users like to use Futaba sets but i know they can be quite expensive. what is the best value radio set out there to use for the phantom? I would like to get one with a knob that i can use to adjust my zenmuse gimbal, also if you think dispite the price futaba is still the way to go which one should i get.

your help will be greatly appreciated :D

There's a number of decent options at lower price points than the Futaba sets (which are undeniably great equipment). Check this post out for my recommendation on the best value (feature/price ratio) on an entry-level alternative radio: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7377&p=59442&hilit=+Turnigy+9x#p59442

Note: you can also buy that same Transmitter with it's own receiver instead of the telemetry modules I mentioned there: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... ouse_.html

You can also check out the line from Walkera, the DEVO 7/10/12.

In my opinion, the king of bang-for-your-buck radio systems is the FrSky Taranis (~$200, 16 channels, telemetry, ultimate programmability), however it's not nearly as approachable or noob-friendly as those other options. It's also usually very hard to find in stock anywhere, but it seems that there's actually at least one available right now if you want to give it a try: http://www.rangevideo.com/index.php/rad ... -110v.html
