I've seen a lot posts referencing a "ground station". Can someone tell me what a ground station is and what purpose it serves ?

    Thanks.

The next version of the Vision App will include "Ground Station" features. This will allow you to set basic waypoints (point on a map and altitude), once you have the waypoints set, you hit "Go" on the app. The Phantom will take off by itself, fly to each waypoint, pause for a few seconds, and then go to the next waypoint. While it is flying, you can turn the camera on/off, take pics, and tilt the camera.

Thank you. Is this what the folks are referring to as a "ground station"? Any guess on a timeframe?

The Waypoint feature has been in beta for one month. Beta was finished last week and the app was released by DJI to Apple. It takes typically 5-10 days for Apple to approve it. I would assume earliest would be the end of this week and the latest would be the end of next week.

Here is info on the app

A in a 6 month late (and counting) promise, conatained in a "bull tits" app, that does nothing useful for flying camera operations.
But once it get's here ..... it till be a "show off" novelty, that will fly your Vision to different points in the sky. :ugeek: :ugeek:

Hmm, I don't think anyone here was aware of that. Tahoe Ed stops in from time to time, but has been quiet, so thanks for that promising update. So if it's actually been released to Apple, what about Android?

Yeah he doesn't want people giving him **** because the realease date is December 2014, sound familiar ;)
I dont think waypoints upgrade is the delay its what other restrictive things they can add into the update that they can add in to make sure everyone falls for it hook line and sinker. I dont need or see any use for waypoints so no sneaky upgrades for me thanks.
