What happens in the GS loses connection

Hi all,
I'm considering getting the iPad GS for my Phantom 2.

Just for clarification: What happens if/when the GS and Phantom lose connectivity mid-mission? Is the Phantom able to complete its mission without contact with the GS, or will it simply return to home if it loses connection?

It continues on with the pre programmed route as long as it has battery power. When it gets closer, close and reboot the GS application and you usually get telemetry back. If it is range of the TX then you get control of it by toggling to atti then back to GPS and fly it home and land it. I run a standard route where I lose connection about half the time. I changed the antennae positions and placed the base station on a 5 foot pole helps a lot. Longer pole would work better I bet but a pain to haul around.
