What happens if I don't upgrade the battery firmware?

Hello,

I borrowed a battery from a friend to do a project. But the firmware on his battery is below my P3Ps firmware, and there's a warning to upgrade it on the DJI GO app. But since it's not mine, I don't want to upgrade it. What are the risk if I don't upgrade it? Please advise. TY!

There might be a conflict between the Bird FW and the Battery, The smart Battery communicate with the Bird to estimate the Power consumes and do analysis on the Safety RTH function. If there is conflict the Battery remaining might be not accurate. That might be the risk....

Thanks, I won't risk it, I upgraded the battery. I'll just buy the battery from my friend after.

Also, it has been posted that one of the old battery firmwares (1.5 IIRC) has a bug in it which may cause a drop from the sky).
