Well this just ruined prop guards for me...

My goodness. It never occurred to me just how much the guards would show up in the picture when moving forward! :eek: I'm used to cropping a little for blades and of course you can always tilt your camera down a bit, but for some shots? You need to be straight on and moving...

...so off they go for now. I'll keep them just in case, but they were only a minor precaution to begin with. This revelation killed them for me. :(

EDIT: It's also louder somehow. I could hear it buzzin' at 200 feet!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they wouldn't have helped you in Vegas. Awesome video BTW. :cool:

If I had a dollar for every time somebody mentioned prop guards getting in the shot or contributing to VRS, I'd be able to buy another P3P.

Contributing to weight.

Weight isn't much of a concern... losing 1/3rd of your screen is though...
 
Only have them on the toy quads. This is the big leagues. Airliners don't have them. Nor do they have bumpers. Because any collision is unacceptable. Same with the Phantom. Too costly on many levels.

Now indoors over people, if they consented. Yeah maybe.
