So a lot of people on this forum have down loaded a weather app of one sort or another. I just purchased a weather station so now I have all the info at a glance ! weather.jpg

So what do you do for weather reports when you areaway from your home station? Personally, I like the Avia Weather app (android). It lists you select airports in the area where you will be flying and downloads (and decodes) the METAR and TAR weather reports from those airports. Gives needed additional info such as visibility and ceiling heights.

I do have a weather app on my phone so when I'm away I'm good. Most of the time I fly local.

I'm curious to see how similar the reading are between your app and your weather station. I would think the app could be off by a large margin in some cases...

I use an app and an hand-held anemometer...

    I'm a Weather Geek too.
The Apps. use fixed locations. Often a local airport. Don't expect homestead correlation to these sites unless you are in close proximity. There's also latency in data from sensor to App.

One of the biggest concerns for me is wind speed at 400', and what weather app provides that besides uavforecast.com?
