Waypoints from a PC or another source?

I have yet to fly. Mother Nature is doing her best to keep me grounded. But there are some flights I'd like to plan out while I have downtime. Fly some simulations through Google Earth or something.

So far, the only thing I see is you have to set the waypoints by flying the Phantom to each spot to record them. If I'm already flying it there, why do I really need waypoints?

You really don't if you're just going to fly a specific route one time. It's useful if you want to refly the same flight later though.

As bbfpv alluded to above, there are some 3rd party apps that allow waypoint missions to be planned from the ground.
