Waypoint question

Here's my question - Say i set a mission with 2 waypoints. Point 1 would be 50 feet above where I take off so I fly up and set waypoint #1. I then fly up to 150 feet, then move 50 yards away and set waypoint #2.

Will the bird follow the same rout? That is, go to the first point, then climb straight up, then move to point 2 or does it ascend and travel to point 2 simultaneously?

I believe it will gradually ascend from WP1 towards WP2
However I have a Litchi beta.
Generally, setting a waypoint sets the geographic location and height.
I suppose different apps can be different.

Can't that be flown in the simulator to see what it will do?

I have the Litchi for P2, but I can't imagine why it would be different.

It will ascend and also move in the direction of the second waypoint at the same time.
