Water damage, sort of powers up

Splashed my Father's Day present, a Phantom 3. It landed in about 3 inches of water, with one rotor down in the water, the rest just got splashed and not submerged. That motor smoked, has discolored windings, no big deal if I need to replace it. I took it apart and dried everything out and got a new battery (splashed battery was bulging after a couple of days in a rice bag). Now when I try to turn it on it powers up the motors and moves them a few degrees, I get a click, and it shuts down. Is the ESC integral with the motor, and will it refuse to power up if it has a bad one? Do I have a paperweight with some spare parts, or does this sound salvageable?
