Hi I am new to this having recently bought the Phantom 2 GoPro Gimbal etc. However as a Professional photographer I am more interested in still images and the GoPro stills are decidedly average. What I would like is to shoot with a better compact like the Sony RX100 mark 2.There is a Sony app that can control all the functions on the camera via wifi would it be possible to use the Vision Wifi extender which can be purchased separately to increase the range in order to do this.Apologies if this has already been covered somewhere else.

To make use of wifi (2.4ghz) video signal, you'll need Phantoms that work with 5.8ghz control channel. Namely:

- Phantom FC-40
- Phantom Vision (FC-200)

Yes, they both come with ip cameras, and no, they don't sell ready-kits for installing other camera brands (except for go pro). So it's not impossible, but you need to start with the right frame.

Hi Leo
I'm not sure if I understand this right, but does that mean that I can use my Phantom2 Vision (which should be 5.8Ghz) with the Sony camera and get FPV and be able to control the camera from my mobile?
Ofcourse I have to find a Gimbal for the PV that can take the Sony camera.

Can P2V carry the Sony: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsbZiUQtIhk (the Phantom can. Would depend on what gimbal you would use) Calculate the weight of the camera and gimbal and mount a similar weight to your P2V and try it out?

How close to realtime: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9XWntvBz9g Is this close enough for your needs?

Will the DJI extender work? Two different technologies. I don't know if you can make it work. I couldn't on my Hero3 (SSID+PW) I managed to build a DD-WRT extender instead.

Have fun figuring things out :)
