I have a torn dampner and am trying to figure out how to replace - the bird came with a few extra.

You have to cut the clear plastic piece, which prevents the gimbal from falling off. You can slide a new dampener on to the replacement and install. Once those pieces are clicked in they are not meant to be removed, without damage.

You don't have to cut the post. If you get a pair of needle nose pliers, you can squeeze the wedged out flanges on the post and the plastic spacer will come off. Make sure when you put the new damper on, you use something to push out the wedges on the post to prevent the spacer from sliding off. Do this at your own risk, but I did this about four months ago, and have had no problems with the spacer coming loose. If you are concerned about them coming loose, then cut them off and buy some new ones.

It's just not worth the risk of the clip falling off in flight. You should have received extra posts with your phantom that you can easily replace that one with. No need to buy anything.
