Just installed one today. Could not believe how well it helps with orientation. Works equally well day or night. I drilled a hole in the battery door and mounted with hot glue. One of the best add ons I have seen yet. Did not effect battery light at all.

I have the same one - works great. I'm using a bit of velcro instead so that it's removable.

I bought one from that same vendor and they sent me a rectangular one that they are testing for free. I got this in addition to the round light. I slapped mine on today and played with it as well. It is very nice and does help out.

Do they work in bright sunlight, and if so, to what range?

Looks like it plugs in to the balance plug of the LiPo.

I have a rectangular LED light and also a round one from the same ebay vendor. Both are very bright but they also get very hot. So hot, in fact, that the LED boards come loose from the sticky tape -- I had to mount the rectangular one to a piece of thin cardboard by tying it on with strong thread. Haven't figured out how to mount the round one.

Jumanoc, where did you get your bike lights? I like the self-contained battery as I use the flight battery balance lead for fpv.

It plugs into the balance plug on the battery. Not sure how far I have flown out but you can't see the red and green but you turn it and you will see the headlight. I flying quite a bit farther out because I can see it.
