Vail, Colorado vacations

Hi folks, and Happy Holidays to all of you. My son is going to Vail, Colorado to spend New Years days there and is planning to take his Phantom. How is flying at so cold weather (actually -6F) and what precautions should he has while doing it. Thanks for any advice in relation to this matter.

Lot's of people start up their Phantom in the car. Otherwise, it will take about 10 minutes to warm up outside.

Keep your batteries warm in an inside pocket.

I fly routinely here in Minnesota with very little consideration for cold temps. Two things to be aware of....your batteries will have shortened run times at that temp (12-15 minutes), and you might get condensation when you bring it inside after being out in the cold.

One other problem, I guess....whichever hand you use to control your iPad/iPhone will get cold.
