I did read the Manuel and it shows it coming out of the right side of the back door. I bought this used (phantom 1.1.1) and was thinking something possibly happened. No need to get upset.Assuming that you have either a P1 or P1.1.1 model Phantom, here's the link to the Phantom1 portion of the DJI website.

Download each of the manuals at this link, look them over and then get back to us if you still have any questions. .
The answer to your question is in the manuals.....
Now that should have been directed to the OP as I have a P2.
obviously the previous owner for some reason has replaced the cable with that shown in the photo, easy enough to replace, open the shell and unplug the end of the cable shown in the photo with the one in the box with the usb socket on the end, you might fine that there's a small bit of glue holding the cable in the front of the shell where it's plugged in but easy to remove,I just looked at a photo. I have that cable but it's not in the battery compartment, it's in the box.

The Phantom's USB cable is tucked up way inside the battery compartment and can easily be overlooked.
What the picture shows is the XT60 connector to the flight battery.... the USB connector is a 2nd connector not visible in picture.
That is an aux power lead for a gimble etc. That's normal.
