Sure, they can't get commercial UAV usage figured out for over 5 years now but this they can do in weeks!!!
They know there won't be much push back from UAV users so full speed ahead.

It sounds like they have no idea how they are going to accomplish this. At one point he didn't even know if they have the authority to do this lol.

Yeah. So what???? Unless the drone crashes and they retrieve it, they still cannot "Tie the drone to the user". Stupid wasteful regulation.
Flying legally, as I do, I don't give a rip s*** if DOT has my uav registered. Hell I even put my info on my Phantom now.
The sky is not falling folks.
