I finally got my phantom the way I wanted it. Thanks to all the advice I got on this forum...I went with the E300 motor, prop, and ECS kit with extended motor mounts with dual battery mounts, a fatshark for FPV and a cheap OSD....Whoever told me to go with the E300 kit thank you, I love it and highly recommend it for phantoms...it now has no problem lifting the weight of the gopro and gimble on it...Man I hate winter go figure I get it done just as first snow flies here..oh I guess I can get some cool snow picks..Anyone have tips for flying in winter?

Re: Upgraded phantom 1

Hi,

I have a Phantom I and hesitate to upgrade to the Phantom II because of the newly designed battery. They are costly and take a long time to re-charge. So, like you, I prefer to upgrade my Phantom I in hopes of getting additional fly time out it and still keep my traditional batteries.
What kind of fly times are you getting of your Phantom I with the upgrade E300 motors?
Do you if the new Phantom II motors and esc's are compatible with the Phantom I?

Thanks,
Mark

Depending on which set batteries I use from 14 to 20min the bigger props that come with E300 is also a huge advantage after I installed that kit. You can just tell it's not working as hard to fly, way more stable..not sure about using the 2s ECS n motors not tried that. The e300 kit comes with its own ECS it's a tight fit and u lose the stock LED lights on bottom. But to fix that I found so cheap LED strip kit just for this problem on ebay. U can't even tell the difference..Its a little bit of wiring not well worth it i love it. I highly recommend the e300 propulsion kit...

Hi,

14 - 20 minute fly times...nice. I would have to agree if you are getting those kind of fly times then the upgrade is well worth it. I'll will have to consider that kit as another upgrade option. Thanks for the suggestion regarding the LED lights. I think I know which LED strip kit you are referring too. I have seen them on ebay.

Are you flying with two batteries? Do you have a photo showing the strip lighting? Would love to see underside of your Phantom.

Thanks,
Mark
