UPDATE: I finally got it. I had to reformat the SD, download the firmware, then update the firmware. It beeped until about 60% of the update was done, then just had the normal sounds it makes when updating the firmware. I had to be patient during some of the screens, which is where I messed up before. When at the Aircraft Status page on the DJI app, I had to wait about a minute before the Latest Firmware button allowed me to download, and the same thing at the Home screen before the Update Now orange bar appeared at the top for me to update it. After all was finished, I turned off the controller and phantom, then back on and it was good to go.
