Updating firmware help please-SOLVED

I just cannot get off base in my attempts to update my Gopro 3+ black to the new firmware just released.

I am trying to avoid doing this manually, as this involves creating new passwords for connecting the Gopro app- and I do not want to go down that road again :?

So- my attempts to update using the Gopro app are stalling because all the tutorials seem to call for the Ipad to be connected to the internet AND that the Gopro app is open and connected to the camera.

Now, I may have lost the plot, but I cannot see how I can connect to both the camera and the net at the same time. The Ipad has to be set to connect to one or the other??? Help please.

Solved in the sense that I know the answer. It can't be done! Not with an Ipad with wifi only connectivity :roll:

Just to clarify- here is a paste of the first 2 instructions from Gopro:

"Step 1: Ensure that your mobile device has access to the internet.

Step 2: Start the GoPro App."

And here's the rub- with the device connected to the net, the App will not start!
