Undesired GO Update

For months I kept GO, aircraft firmware, remote control and batteries in happy harmony, not seeing any need to add updates and attendant problems. Then through an unintended update to GO, I am confronted with GO at 3.0.1; not knowing how this will affect my previous coordinated operation.

P3A Aircraft firmware - 1.8.80
Remote control - 1.60

Must I now update firmware and RC and batteries or will my combination be stable? I am reluctant to perform (destructive) testing to find out if someone can advise me.
