Is there a antenna i can hook up to a old cb tower that have? The tower is about 30 feet off the ground.. and was figuring that would give me a nice range from that height thanks GrahamC

There are all sorts of WiFi antennas you can mount on the tower. But....

At the UHF frequencies the DJI system uses, the coaxial cable that you'll need to connect the controller to the antenna becomes a problem. Normal CB style cable will soak up the signal at UHF frequencies. If you use 30+ feet of CB coaxial cable, much of the signal will be lost by the time it reaches the antenna.

A cable that will work well at 2.4 Ghz gets expensive and is cumbersome to work with. It will be stiff, have a thickness of almost an inch, and cost 4 to 8 dollars a foot.

There's a thread on this, flying from indoors and inside the car. There's good info on cable and amplifiers. The thread was started by Jeremiah, the guru of remotely mounted antennas.

Flying from inside house or car anyone?
