Trouble with Balance Connection

I have recently started using my Fat Shark FPV. One of the many things i find annoying is switching out the phantom battery. The balance connection which powers the FPV is always really tight and hard to disconnect. It almost feels like I'm going to pull the wires right out?????

I followed a suggestion on another forum and widened out an opening on the lower sides of the battery door and the frame. Now I attach the main battery cables outside the quad, and plug into my balance plug inside the quad and tuck it in beside the battery way more room. This works well with my Turnigy batteries which have really long cables. Way less wear and tear on the balance plug. Since the quad isn't moving at aerodynamic speed the wires sticking out have no impact on flying. Just looks goofy.
