Transmitter

Hi guys,

Having just got a shocking deal on a second hand 330 with a naza 2 I am in need of a transmitter. The quad is Comming with an Orange rx dsm2. I don't know what tx I need let alone how many channels.

I don't have much money to play with so I don't want anything expensive. So I'm after a budget controller that will work with that rx.

I'm based in the uk so uk vendors are the way forward (don't want nasty customs fees)

Thanks guys

DSM2 is a Spektrum protocol.

Otherwise you need to replace the Rx with whatever protocol you wish to use.

7-8 channels gives you the typical capability for amateur/hobbyist use.

+1

I'm guessing the Orange Rx you have is at least 7 channels, but it should indicate on it somewhere or you can Google the model number to find out.

Orange also makes transmitter modules that will fit in to the bay on an inexpensive controller with that capability like a Turnigy 9X or others. I'm not terribly familiar with Spektrum gear so I have no idea what it would cost you to get one of their controllers compatible with your Rx, but the controller + module option might be a cheaper way to go. So you'll have a reference, here's what that option would cost with new parts (~$100):

EDIT: I see now that the newer version of the 9X, the 9XR is actually the same price (and has much better firmware on it): http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... ouse_.html
