Transmitter Power CE or FCC?

Because the Communicating Distance being more with the FCC setting,500m verses 300m with the CE setting. Is that the prefered setting that everyone uses with their Transmitters? Is there any local laws or regulations that determine that?

I think it deppends where you live, for instance if you live in the U.S.A. you choose the FCC setting, if you live in Europe you choose the CE setting. There are laws, I live in Portugal but I never heard about any laws about rc flying devices here in my country (maybe this is because im new to RC and never really searched about regulations) so i think i will probably use FCC settings. Shhhh, dont tell anyone maybe the Portuguese secret service is lurking...wait someone is knocking at my door...
