Tracking on Map

I'm sure someone has asked about this before, but I can't find a thread on it.
Flying P3A with iPhone 6. When flying in flight simulator, the DJI App shows a yellow trail on the map of where you've been.
But not during real flying. Many threads have suggested turning iphone to airplane mode to avoid texts and calls which I did.
Could airplane mode be the reason for no tracking on the map? Home point was set and map caching on.

I don't remember seeing a trail on my iPad when using the simulator. I definitely don't see it live.

Will try the sim again later.

OK, I checked some of my screen-shots I did in my last simulator run and I do see the trails.
