Does your battery fit securely in the unit? Mine, I noticed that it does not 'snap' or anything like that into place and there is a bit of room that it could shift, which I proved to myself by giving it a little bang on the carpet, and sure enough the battery became disconnected and therefore useless.

So, there is a good likelihood that if I do end up needing to use it, I have crashed somewhere, and probably a bit harder than my 'bang' on the carpet.

Is my unit's backing behind where the battery goes a little loose or does everyone notice this issue?

I wonder if you are missing the back cover. The battery does not 'snap' into place, and without the cover will easily fall out.

However, with the cover fitted, there is no way that the battery could come adrift.
