Throttle max down 3 sec chrashes

I am a newbie

A stupid question (but I have to know)
The manual says: "if you pull the throttle handle down in 3 secs, the motors will stop and you will crash"

Is that a fact even in a high altitude?
Right now i do a REALLY slow descent :|
Will my bird fall or does it know NOT to shut down flying high?

I think they mean Full negative throttle. when you land and are on the ground you give it full negative throttle for 3 seconds and the props will shut off. Nobody should give a quadcopter full negative throttle to avoid VRS.

The "Intelligent Throttle Control" in the Phantom's NAZA is set by default to prevent that. You can set that manually in the Assistant software (when your Phantom is connected to the PC) by choosing "Intelligent" option. If you have a P2/P2V, you'll need to enable NAZA-M mode in the software to get to the setting. Here's what it looks like, the text on the left explains how it works:
