I've been looking for an answer to this and found conflicting answers, when in flight, will full throttle down kill the engines, or does the vision detect that it has landed to utilize the power down feature? I have read that it only powers off after landing, but I have also found people that say it will power off engines in flight if held down too long. Thanks in advance.

Ask anyone who doesn't land (they 'catch' their craft in the air) and you'll find out you can cut off the motors while 'in flight'.

the NAZA brain logic
IF altitude has not changed and the left stick is down for more than 3 secs = kill motors.

No it wont cut the motors until it lands. You can hand catch and do it as you have stopped it descending, it thinks it has landed.
