I like that , but I would like to have one of mesh. Might be lighter ?

Yes, mesh would be lighter, I tried that already, but it is not
Strong enough, it wants to slide DOWN the landing gear, so I used
Vinyl, holds up nicely, no sliding down gear!

As for WEIGHT:
The bag ( 26.4 grams, or .93oz. )
The GPS unit ( with battery, sim, and memory cards )
GPS ( 59.8 grams, or 2.11 oz. )
Together ( bag & GPS )
Both. ( 86.2 grams , or 3.04 oz. )

Hope this helps!

I just used the hole in the top of the 102 tracker and tie strapped it to the left side landing horizontal skid with 2 tie straps then took a long tie strap and wrapped it around the two verticals of that skid and slide it up over the 102 to keep it upright

I mounted My tracker under the Phantom and moved the Flytrex inside the battery compartment.

cool feedback/ideas. this thread might be a good repository of how other phantom owners mount their GPS Tracker onto their phantom. The idea of flat on the underbelly was good, why didn't i think of that..hahhaha.....hence this thread is good for others who wanted to use a 3rd Party GPS tracker and how best to mount it..they just simply choose which method suits their requirement.

Xexun tk102-2 gps tracker with Velcro. Doesn't impede movement of gimbal, removal of the phantom battery nor plugging in cable to camera. Also you can just flip the cover off of the gps and drop its battery down.

About 5 flights so far no issues even in 14mph winds.

Barely adds any additional drag.

I mounted my first unit under the belly, but after a 200' fall
( Velcro came off ) destroying my tracker, that is why I made the saddle
Bag! Make sure you use GOOD ( 3M ) VELCRO! If you belly mount!
Also if you Velcro to belly, your tracker can fly off in a crash, just a few
Things to keep in mind.

Now my flytrex is there ( under belly ), lol.

Hope this helps!

this was my worry. came off, bounced on the ground or tarmac, cover came off, battery came off..and result, i cant track it. i think i will try as is first and maybe put it on the belly later, using both cable tie and velcro. i worry too much ya? i am a newbie and dot print money, thats why...hahahaha.

I used 1/2 of a P1 Dual Battery tray mounted across the FRONT legs of my PV+. This affords a balanced mount, with a great view of the GPS birds in the sky, and provides a bit of a sunshade for the camera lens... PS- My labels are fine, I blurred the phone number.

I mount my TK-102B on the belly using a single strip of 3M Dual Lock. This stuff is much more heavy duty than regular velcro, and when you close it together it 'snaps' into place. Around AUD$4 from eBay for 20cm length of material.

I don't think this is going to come off during a crash. I haven't had to use my Tracker yet since I haven't crashed/loss the aircraft.
